Proclamation
Whereas, EUSD educators are among the best educated, most devoted and hardest-working educators in the state; and
Whereas, EUSD educators are the engineers behind the academic success of all Escondido children; and
Whereas, the prosperity of our city, our state and our nation is determined by the skills and abilities of the next generation; and
Whereas, our students depend on educators to guide them on the road to success; and
Whereas, the innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills needed to maintain a thriving economy derive from the hard work of EUSD educators; and
Whereas, educator support depends on a citizenry that values public education and provides the resources needed to support it; and
Whereas, good teaching grows in value and pays dividends far beyond the classroom; and
Whereas, the theme of the 30th annual California Day of the Educator is Building a better state for public education;
Now, therefore, I, Romero Maratea serving as President of the Escondido Elementary Educators Association (EEEA)
Do hereby proclaim Wednesday, May 9, 2012, as
DAY OF THE EDUCATOR
I urge all citizens to observe this day by taking time to remember and honor those who give the gift of knowledge through teaching.

EEEA Association Beliefs
The EEEA is dedicated to promoting an environment in which educators can best support academic success and healthy emotional growth for all students. In order to do so:
We believe District and Association leaders should base their decision-making on what is best for the well-being of students and employees.
- Teachers should have genuine input in decisions that affect classroom instructional practices.
- District and Association budget decisions should be based on what is best for student and employees.
We believe members should be respected by District leaders and treated as highly trained professionals.
We believe that inclusion of all stakeholders in the Escondido community is essential to maintaining successful EUSD schools.
- District and Association leaders should reflect the rich diversity of the Escondido community.
We believe member involvement is essential to sustain a strong organization.
- Regular communication from EEEA leaders to members is vital for a healthy organization.
